DAN-GUN is named after the holy Dan Gun, the legendary founder of Korea in the year of 2,333 B.C. He is credited with establishing the Korean nation of Ko-Chosun in Taebaek.

Dan gun is the second of 24 International Taekwondo Federation hyungs and consists of 21 movements. The diagram shows the starting point and progression of the form in plan view.

Many of the ITF poomse are connected to people or events of Korean history.
