May 24, Weapons Training

I am actually going off to day to practice Kum Ye Do, a Korean swordsmanship art. I think I've memorized the il jang and ee jang forms but I'm having trouble with sam jang. Each form is completely different from it predecessor and we are on a fast learning curve.

Our Korean master will be back in the United States in August for another 2 weekend intensive and I need to be ready.

A long Memorial Day weekend seems just the time to get practicing on my tae kwon do techniques.

May 12, How to tie your belt : Part 1

Finally, as I promised, the video demonstration on how to tie your belt is up. My son and his friends borrowed my video camera to make a movie they submitted to a contest at NYU, and they lost a cable I needed to extract the video. All is well now, and you have the benefit of a video instruction on belt tying. The video is about 3 minutes or so because I explain a bit about martial arts belts. Part 2 will be up shortly which gives you the short-cut method to tying your black belt.
